Cordova's RipCord High Tenacity Nylon Sleeves are a cost-effective protection measure when light cut possibilities may occur above the glove. Ambidextrous and machine washable, these sleeves can be worn on either arm and provide cut and slash protection above the wrist with a comfortable and snug fit. Elasticized without the use of latex around the wrist and biceps keeps the sleeve in place during work for comfort and safety. This 18in safety sleeve has a 2-inch gusset. The protective High Tenacity Nylon is plaited on the outside of the sleeve while the inside is made of cotton. ANS-ISEA: Cut Level 2: 586 Grams. Safe for Food Contact: Component Materials comply with FDA 21CFR, Parts 170-199. Machine washable for extended use. High Tenacity Nylon, which was also once known as ballistic nylon, is a dense nylon developed by Dupont to protect WWII Fighter Pilots from flak cannon debris. It was the original bullet proof vest material until Kevlar was developed. It's strength gets the job done at a price that is below higher-performing materials such as Aramid (Kevlar) and UMHWPE.
